Sunday School

(10:15 a.m.) Age-Appropriate Sunday School classes are taught by loving adult leaders for children of all ages. Teachers’ names and pictures are posted outside each room so you will know exactly who will be caring for your child. Sunday school time includes Bible lessons, practical application for children, and some interactive response time that may include discussions, arts and crafts, music, or productive play time.

Children’s Events

Throughout the year various events are offered as a way to reach and serve children in the community. These events might include Easter Egg Hunts, Halloween Truck or Treat, and other seasonal events. Watch for more details about special offerings.

Vacation Bible School

Every Summer Asbury offers a week of VBS for children of all ages. The VBS program includes Bible Story time, music, recreation, snacks, and crafts. Many excited adult and youth volunteers work hard to make this a fun and exciting week for your child to hear about and experience how God can work in their lives.

Christmas Program

In preparation for sharing the Christmas story kid-style, our children spend the Wednesday evenings prior to the presentation learning music and dramatic parts, as well as doing fun activities related to the Christmas story. Children of all ages are included as they present a Christmas play, including a fully-costumed version of the nativity story.

Child Safety Policy

Asbury follows a specific child safety policy known as Safe Sanctuaries.  The basic tenets of Safe Sanctuaries includes the following:

• Background checks – All paid or volunteer workers with children and youth must have criminal background checks
• Six Month waiting period –  no volunteers may work with children or youth until they have been involved in the church for at least six months
• Two adult policy – Any group of children or youth must have two, unrelated adults with them at all times
• High Visibility – All rooms used for programming must have windows in doors or walls for public visibility
